Well, today I officially turn 30.
Very exciting indeed. I spent the day up at the school watching a friends M.Sc. Mathematics thesis presentation, and then a brief meeting with a client, finally ending up downtown with Kevin, Luk, Claire, Mila, Pavan, Herb and Kris. The day was awesome – very laid back and relaxing. We spent some time at the Albion before moving to the Corner Stone for dinner. And of course, a few beer!
For those who didn’t make it to the party on Saturday – you missed a great time. The night began with food, drinks, and champagne at the house before heading to Manhattan’s. The bar was fantastic. It was the first visit to Manhattan’s in a very long time and the place was amazing. The turn out was beyond belief. It was awesome to see so many friends and my family all in one place. And of course, looking fantastic!
After the bar – which lasted until the wee hours of the morning -we returned to the house for some more food. After refueling, Tanya, Lara, Tyler, Ben and myself headed off through the conservation area to this isolated field. It was raining slightly, but still, an awesome adventure. After we arrived at the field, we spent the next hour or so sharing champagne, and many laughs. Somehow, we managed to find our way back to the house in one piece without any major injury. I think it was probably about 5 in the morning before I finally crawled into bed next to Ms. Jhona who had already passed out hours earlier.
The next morning, we awoke for breakfast (masterfully prepared by Lara). We then spent the morning laughing about the night before and vegging out on the couch. After so many hours and after the crowd began to thin, I decided a nap was in order. Lara and I then enjoyed some quiet time for a few hours, before watching the Boogeyman with Kevin. Apparently this is supposed to be the ‘scariest movie ever’. For those who haven’t seen it, totally not the scariest movie ever. But it is pretty funny!
Anywho, that is about all for now. I’ve uploaded more photo’s from my big birthday bash. Thanks to all who came. It really was one of the best nights of my life!
